A visit to Yorkshire
This first pic is some fellow competitors shooting at 500yds (longest range shot over the weekend). We're on top of a moor so the wind was blowing pretty hard (from right to left at about 2-9 minutes).
This second picture is a bit less interesting. Just our team waiting for our chance to advance to 300yds and shoot there. An absolutely lovely day, probably about 72F.This is the first range at Brockholes. No, the camera isn't tilted, we're just shooting across a huge slope which makes for interesting winds. I discovered a flaw in my grip position here, where I was "dragging" the trigger finger on the stock, influencing the shot to go either right or left.
These are my two teammmates Amy Peters and Marian Patrick (left and right). We stopped to take some pictures from a view point. Very nice people and very good to be around (upbeat).
This the wine we had at Dr. Anton Aspin's house Saturday night. It really stood out for me and I hope to find it in the US.
Older teammates. Left to right Stan Frost, center Scott Murray, and right, Bernard Pepin (a now old friend and great all-around guy).
The "Tree of Imagination". A local project to which Sally Aspin was a major influence and mover. They decided to convert a ruined oak tree stump into something for the community and children. Anton Aspin on the right side, Sally on the left.
This is St. Oswald's Church, in Lower Peover in Cheshire. Our friends the Aspins took us there and showed us about. Lovely old church. Sally Aspin was a bit taken aback when I mentioned to her I thought it would have originally been a Catholic church, having been built by the Norman French in 1269 AD.
Mary at the farm store, trying on proper riding clothes!
