Amsterdam
I have a resrved ticket for the Van Gogh Museum in an hour (hopefully no lines with a reserved ticket). It's a mild sunny day (68F) and a nice break from the oppressive humidity in the UK (88%!). Had an excellent authentic pizza last night at a restaurant run by Italians and a nice lunch today accompanied by a nice Duvel beer.
This afternoon, perhaps a visit to the Max Euwe Museum (chess world champion in the late 1930s). Seems eclectic but since I still love chess, why not?
Got a solid night's sleep last night - first since I landed without a sleeping pill - so starting to feel much better.
This is the front door of my AirBnB - down a little side alley in the heart of the inner canal zone, 5 minutes from the Centraal station. I couldn't have chosen better as my host is quite charming, well-educated and thoroughly Dutch.
Tomorrow I'll ride the train out to the Amsterdam Arena to pick up an authentic Ajax polo for Emil and perhaps rent a bike. Kind of regretting I'm only here three days.
